Local captain service from $150/hour; four-hour minimum; full delivery day from $850; owner-assisted delivery from $950/day. Capt. Steve holds a United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential and has extensive powerboat experience throughout Long Island Sound, New York Harbor, the East River, Harlem River, Hudson River, and surrounding coastal waters.
Every assignment begins with a review of the vessel, proposed route, weather conditions, fuel requirements, navigation and communications equipment, marina arrangements, insurance requirements, and any special operating considerations.
The goal is not simply to move the boat. It is to complete the delivery responsibly, communicate clearly with the owner, and protect the vessel throughout the trip.

Qualifying Powerboats
Boat delivery services are generally intended for qualifying powerboats approximately 35–45 feet in length and vessels up to 25 gross tons, including cabin cruisers, flybridge and sedan-bridge boats, motor yachts, trawlers, sportfishing and convertible boats, and express cruisers.
Multiple propulsion types
Outboard-, sterndrive-, and inboard-powered vessels may be considered based on the vessel’s condition, systems, operating characteristics, and proposed route.
Case-by-case review
Because vessel length and gross tonnage do not always correspond directly, each boat is evaluated individually. Some boats outside the typical 35–45-foot range may qualify, while certain vessels within the range may require a mate, an additional licensed captain, or specialized arrangements.
Owner-Assisted Boat Delivery
Owners may accompany Capt. Steve when accommodations, insurance, and safety conditions permit. Owner-assisted delivery can be especially valuable when taking possession of a recently purchased vessel, learning a boat’s systems and handling characteristics, or becoming familiar with a new cruising area.

Professional Rates with Defined Boundaries
Captain fees reflect route and weather planning, review of vessel information, owner coordination, delivery-day command, and routine communications—not only the hours spent at the helm.
Local assignments
Local captain and boat-delivery services start at $150 per hour with a four-hour minimum.
Full delivery day
Full delivery days start at $850 and include up to 10 hours, subject to safety and fatigue considerations. Extended hours require captain approval and are billed as stated in the written quote.
Owner-assisted delivery
Owner-assisted delivery and vessel familiarization start at $950 per day.
Additional expenses and specialized assignments
Additional crew, captain travel, return transportation, fuel, dockage, lodging, meals, tolls, parking, customs fees, repairs, parts, and other vessel- or trip-related expenses are separately quoted or reimbursed. Multi-day, offshore, overnight, unusual-vessel, and short-notice assignments require a customized proposal.

A pre-delivery inspection, mechanical review, or sea trial may be required. The vessel owner remains responsible for seaworthiness, insurance, registration or documentation, equipment, and legal readiness for the proposed voyage.

The delivery may be delayed, modified, diverted, or discontinued. The captain retains final authority over safe departure and continuation of the voyage.

Yes. Deliveries may be available throughout New York Harbor, the Hudson River, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and other Northeast coastal destinations.
